Pond Improvements @ NSC

If you've ventured over to the NSC pond recently you will have noticed that the water level is down at least 24-30" and most afternoons you'll have seen the Norfolk County Mosquito Control guys working out back. The low water around the shore is allowing them to remove years of leaves and sediment from a stretch of shore to increase the depth and add to the town's water retention capacity. This has also created a wider pathway around the south shore of the pond and the removal of some tree's will undoubtedly improve back casting opportunities. Work is on going and it will be weeks before the bank dries out and stabilizes but when our fall stocking comes around we should have deeper water, a grass pathway (no more walking the planks) and better flow from the brook (and less mosquitos obviously???).

Pictures of the ongoing work can be found on the Gallery page of the clubs website.
