A dedicated crew of NSC members made the long drive north to Tim Pond Wilderness Camps in Franklin County, Maine for the second year running. Tim Pond is well known for it's wild brook trout population, remoteness and wildlife. Trophy brook trout in this pristine lake are 14"+ so the the fishermen were more than happy with their multiple catches of 12" wild brookie's.

The local loon population caused a few issues for one fisherman, ask Mikey for this story. Good food, gin and bourbon were enjoyed in genourous amounts and the local black flies were kept at bay by Jeff B's pipe smoke.

Locally, members have switched from trout fishing and fly rods to salt and fresh water bass fishing. Striped bass numbers in Boston Harbor are, unsurprisingly, low but members are catching fish. Local ponds are rewarding our kayak fisherman with some nice largemouth and Tony O hooked in to a rare smallmouth bass at Farm Pond, Sherborn a couple of weeks ago.
If anyone is catching fish, please share your photos with the club and we will post to the blog (without burning your spots).

Farewell to a Beloved NSC Member
This Tuesday (30th June @ 7pm) we are meeting at the clubhouse to have a farewell beer with long time NSC member, fly tying maestro and "jolly good egg" Tony O. The sun and golf course of South Carolina are going to be his new home and he heads south in July. Tony was a board member, a past club treasurer and most prominently a fly tying teacher at the club for many years. The club's fly tying webpage is the result of his efforts to make fly tying accessible to all.
We will have BBQ food, beers and Tony will be bringing his darts so please challenge him. We hope you can join us.
