Last month's Family Picnic was a well attended event. Members enjoyed a great spread of grilled food, salad, sides and desserts and the younger guests managed to fill a few 5-gallon buckets with worm caught shiners and sunfish (all released into the brook below the dam).
Thank you to the members who helped with the set up early Sunday morning and a big mention to Joe S for organizing the picnic and Chef Dennis P for manning the smoker and grill on the day.

Heritage Fly Rod (Spare sections available in Clubhouse)
Many members will know that Ray Capabianco was a big advocate for the fly rods made by the Heritage Rod Company and that he sold many Heritage rods to club members. Ray's family members discovered a box of spare Heritage rod sections as they were organizing Ray's vast collection of fly fishing equipment. The box of rod sections has been given to the club and a list of available sections can be seen below. Members are welcome to claim any sections that might be matched to a rod they already own.

Please send us an email if you stop by the clubhouse to grab a spare section for your Heritage rod and we can update this list.
Summer Fishing Trips and Reports (and Photos)
If any members want to share their summer fishing stories and catch reports we are always happy to share through our blog. Send photos and info by email to needhamtroutpond@gmail.com.
Summer is slow at the club pond but we know that some of our stronger, bigger trout do make it through the hot and murky months of July and August. They are not easy to find and catch and have to be treated carefully if caught. There is also a solitary largemouth bass who has been spotted crashing through bait fish along the wall. If anyone braves the heat, bugs water conditions and does have some success at the pond over the summer please let us know.
Have a great summer everyone. Hope to see everyone at the next members meeting on, 18th September 2025.
