January Fly Tying

The January Fly Tying Night will take place at the clubhouse on Tuesday 6th January. Everyone is welcome, no tying experience or equipment required.

Fly Tying starts promptly at 6pm with most members showing up at 5:30pm to get set up and enjoy a slice of pizza.

This months flies are known trout catchers around the shores of the Needham trout pond, the Golden Retriever and the Maple Syrup. Cathy M and Mike H will be taking fly tyers through their paces this month. Fly details have been posted on the club website (Fly Tying webpage).

January Member's Meeting

The next meeting will take place on Thursday 15th January at 7:00pm. This is great opportunity to swing by the clubhouse, drop off your 2026 membership dues and grab a bite to eat. More details to follow.

2026 Membership Dues

The 2026 membership fees are due as of January 1, 2026.  The BoD has taken the step of not raising the yearly dues and keeping Full Membership at $250, Junior Membership at $100. All member dues offset the many expenses that the club has to cover throughout the year and still maintain its non-profit status. The cost of trout stockings, insurance, restroom rental, utility bills, taxes and property maintenance are the largest portion of our costs to run the club.

Checks can be made payable to Needham Sportsman's Club and mailed to the address below. Please include a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to have your 2026 membership tag sent back to you.

This year, members can pay their 2026 memberships online using Zelle if their online banking app or website supports Zelle payments. The club treasurer will be emailing all 2025 members with Zelle payment details in the next few days.

Fly Fishing Show

Needham Sportsman's Club will be hosting a table at the Marlborough Fly Fishing Show on all three days of the event (16th, 17th and 18th January 2026) at the Royal Plaza Trade Center in Marlborough.

REMINDER

Annual Food Drive for NCC Food Pantry

Needham Sportsman's Club is running its annual food drive to gather non-perishable goods for the Needham Community Council Food Pantry. Items can be brought to the clubhouse and left in the box on the table below the TV screen before 31st January. The items that are most in need at this time of year can found on this Food Drive List but all donations are appreciated. Please check expiration dates on cans and packets before donating.
