March Members Meeting

(Thursday 20th, Dinner @ 6:30, Meeting @ 7pm)

Spring Opening Day

(Saturday 22nd March)

Spring Trout Stocking

The pond will be stocked at around 11am this Tuesday (3/18). Stop by if you want to see Darlene from the Gilbert Hatchery introduce our new rainbow and brown trout to the pond (it is an interesting and acrobatic spectacle if you haven't seen it).

Reminder: No Fishing on days between stocking and Opening Day

March Members Meeting

Thursday 20th March 2025

Smoked Ribs and Wing Dinner served @ 6:30pm

Meeting and Presentation starts @ 7pm

Come down to the club on Thursday for a feast of smoked ribs, smoked chicken wings and sides. Club President Dennis P will be firing up his backyard smoker and spending Thursday afternoon cooking racks of ribs and piles of chicken wings. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm. If you have tasted Dennis smoked meats before you will know this will be a great meal with little to no chance of any leftovers...

Dinner will be followed by a short members meeting before the rearranged presentation by guest speaker, Rob Wallace, author of Machine Guns and Typewriters. While not a fishing story this 1934 Needham bank robbery tale will be very interesting to locals, as well as crime buffs.

See this blog post for a more detailed description.

Spring Opening Day 2025

Spring fishing at the pond officially gets underway at 7:30am on Saturday 22nd March. Coffee will be brewed and the wood stove will be roaring by 7am. The first-cast bell will toll at 7:30am then breakfast will served between 9-10am (only $5, the best bargain in town)

2025 Membership dues can be paid on the day.

Club Fishing Rules Reminder

  • The pond is fly-fishing only.

  • Single fly set-ups only.

  • Hooks must be barbless or have the barb crushed down.

  • Members are encouraged to minimize any handling of fish. Use a net to land fish and forceps to remove hook.
