Recent Grand Lake Stream and Tim Pond Trips

During the last few weeks NSC members have made a couple of trips north to chase land locked salmon and native brook trout.

The late spring salmon fishing on Grand Lake Stream was severely effected by the high flow rates during the first few weeks of May. Some salmon were caught but small mouth bass fishing was needed to scratch the itch and bend the rods of members who made the annula trip to Down East Maine.

Some current and ex-members made the long drive to Tim Pond Camps at the beginning of June. Tim Pond is the home to a thriving native brook trout population and members had their fill of spring fish on streamers and nymphs.

Paired together in boats they caught stunning wild brook trout under the watchful eye of the neighborhood moose, deer and eagles. Everyone caught fish, eat and drank well, and had great fun at this traditional Maine outdoors camp.
