December Meeting/Dinner

This coming Thursday (12/19) is the December members meeting. A full roast beef dinner will be served at 6:30pm. It will be a similar feast to last years event with appetizers, antipasto, roast beef and sides on the menu.

Fishing Report

Trout are being caught by the members who have been brave enough to face the cold and rain. The pond has seen the occasion coverage of ice but when open water is available the trout have been playing the game. (The pond is wide open today, Friday 12/13). Flies fished slowly under an indicator seem to be working well and the fish that have been caught are big and healthy and have put up a good fight when they realize they have been duped into taking the days fly of choice.

As always, please land the fish as quickly as you can using a net and return them to the water when they are revived and ready to go.

Wood Stove and Firewood

At this time of year a blazing wood stove in the clubhouse is a treat for cold hands. If you light the wood stove, and the wood pile is low, please bring in an armful of wood from outside for the next days members.

If anyone has any intel on wood (downed trees in your yard or a good contact for cheap, seasoned logs) we can muster up a crew of members to take a truck to pick it up. Email the club if you can help (needhamtroutpond@gmail.com)
