October Members Meeting
Fall Stocking
Opening Day
Clean Up Day Report

The next Member Meeting is this coming Thursday 17th October. A meal of beer-can and rotisserie chicken plus sides will be served at 6:30pm and the meeting will start at 7:00pm. Come along and catch up on the fishing exploits of fellow members, discuss the future plans for the club and pond and hear about the clubs upcoming events for the season.
This is a great opportunity for new members to stop by and introduce yourself before the fall season kicks off. Club members will be happy to answer any questions you might have and pass on some fishing tips for opening day.

Right now the Fall Stocking date is Tuesday 22nd October. This date is provisional and dependent on the water level of the pond and the weather over the next 7-10 days. We are in desperate need of some decent rain showers to fill the pond and turn the water over so please keep an eye on the Blog and your email inbox in case the date has to be bumped out.

Fall Opening Day will hopefully be on Saturday 26th October, this is obviously dependent on the stocking date. The schedule for opening day will be a little different this year.
7:00am - Coffee in the clubhouse
7:30am - First cast
9:00 - 10:00am - Breakfast in the clubhouse
NSC's famous breakfast sandwiches or a cooked breakfast plate will be available. This later breakfast time will hopefully allow more members to join us. It will also give the early birds a chance to rest their weary casting arms and refuel for some more fast-paced trout fishing.

Some serious pond and grounds maintenance took place last Saturday during our very well attended Fall Clean Up morning.
The brush hog made short work of the summer growth of weeds, brambles, shrubs and trees.
Weed whackers cleared the pond edges of fly line snagging foliage.
Fishing spots were cleared.
Brush and branches were dragged out and escorted to local dumps.
Firewood was split and stacked.
The clubhouse was cleaned up.

The morning was rounded off with a lunch of Italian sausage, pepper and onion subs, chips and few cold beers. The new Weber kettle grill was given it's inaugural firing and hungry stomachs were definitely satisfied.
Many thanks to everyone who gave up some of their weekend to spruce up our favourite fishing hole.
