Pond Maintenance Update

Fly Tying Night

The first Fly Tying Night of the fall will take place on Tuesday 8th September at 6pm in the clubhouse. Long-time club member and fly tying (and casting) wizard Bob L will be holding the reins for this session.

Pattern details can be found on the fly tying page of the club website.

All members and guests are welcome and materials will be supplied. No pizza will be served this year but attendees are welcome to bring their own food and snacks.

September Members Meeting

There will be a Members Meeting at 7pm on Thursday 17th September.

Peyton Horst of Concord Outfitters will be at the club to give a fly fishing presentation. You can read Peyton's bio info here.

The BoD will also have confirmed dates for fall stocking and opening day.

Pond Maintenance Update

Norfolk County Mosquito Control have finished their work around the back shore of the pond. They increased the holding capacity of the pond by removing layers of silt and detritus from the shallowest sections. The increased depth around the back shore will open this water up to more fishing.

A gangplank-style walkway has been added to the eroded section of shore opposite the clubhouse to make the trek to the far side a little drier on your boots. Thanks to Brad V for his hard work during this hot summer.

Following one of the heavier summer rain storms we lost a section of the retaining wall out by the bridge. Many thanks to Dennis P and Bob L who stepped up to repair and strengthen the stonework.
