Member's Meeting, Clean-Up Day & Farm Pond Fishing Derby
September Member's Meeting
The September Member's Meeting will take place this Thursday 17th September at 7:00pm in the clubhouse. Stocking and Opening Day updates will be discussed and following the meeting, Peyton Horst of Concord Outfitters will be giving a presentation about "Fly Fishing for Carp".
We look forward to seeing both old and new members at the clubhouse on Thursday for a post-summer catch-up.
Fall Clean Up Day
The Fall Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday 26th September. Members are asked to meet at the club at 8am and donate a few hours of their time to help clear the pond edges and paths, remove brush and trash from the shore and spruce up in and around the clubhouse. Clean-up day typically runs until 12pm and members are asked to bring gloves, rakes, cutters and weed-whackers.
Farm Pond (Sherborn) Fishing Derby
On the morning of Sunday 4th October there is a community kayak fishing derby at Farm Pond in Sherborn. The goal is to raise money for the New England chapter of the Home Base charity which support veterans, service workers and their families.
Farm Pond is a beautiful 125 acre local kettle pond, 60ft deep in some spots, that has some of the best local bass fishing, especially in the spring and fall. It usually requires the purchase of a town issued permit to launch watercraft so this is a great opportunity to get on the water and also raise money for a worthy cause.
A few members have already expressed an interest in taking part so we have created "Team NSC". If you would like to join us please use the link to register for this event and choose "Register" -> "Join a Team". Adult entries are $25 and Juniors are $15. Fishing is 9am-Noon with registration and boat launching between 8-9am. MA safety rules will be in effect (pfd's) and kayaks will be power washed in the parking lot before launch.
