Brook trout stocked this morning
This morning, a few hardy members braved the snow, freezing temperatures and frozen pond to help Darlene from the Gilbert Trout Hatchery stock over 100 lbs of brook trout (and a few bonus brown trout). Chainsaws and axes were needed to create a large enough hole in the ice for the fish to be added to the pond. President Dennis P donned waders and waterproof gloves and bore the brunt of the winter conditions. Hopefully the warmer weather later this week might open a few spot

Brook Trout stocking moved to next week
The brook trout stocking scheduled for the beginning of December will now take place next week. Darlene at the Gilbert Trout Hatchery had some predator issues recently and asked to move the stocking out by one week. We expect 100+ brook trout to be added to the pond next week, date/date/time to be confirmed. This supplementary stocking is being funded by the money raised at last months raffle/auction.
